Punjas Charitable Trust

In 2015, the Prime Minister, Honourable Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama inaugurated the Punjas Medical Centre in Lautoka, a project of Punjas Charity Trust.

The medical centre, built at a cost of $500,000, will ensure more people in Lautoka have access to basic medical services. The centre is operated by the Ministry of Health and Medical Services following the signing of a public-private partnership agreement between the Health Minister, Honourable Jone Usamate and Mr Kanti Punja of the Punjas Charity Trust.

The Punjas Medical Centre, located at 10 Cakau Street, is the brainchild of Mr. Kanti Punja, Senior Director of Punja and Sons Pte Limited, who strongly believes in the promotion of health and wellbeing as a corporate social responsibility.

The health facility includes an ambulance bay, two consultation rooms, ramp for bed transfers, records room, pharmacy, staff kitchen, cleaning and change room with shower facilities and amenities for people with disabilities.

Senior Director Mr Kanti Punja, founder of the trust has been instrumental in ensuring the facility is built to be profitable to ensure long term, sustainable support for the community.
