environmental sustainability

We believe the world we live in is our responsibility.

The world’s largest ocean is our home. In the face of climate change the Pacific Ocean, with its thousands of islands and people, faces challenging times.

We believe that if we’re here to stay, every act counts. We empower Pacific people to dream, design and enact solutions.

Punjas is proud to have been a part of environmental initiatives such as Earth Hour, the Turtle Benefit Ball, the Great Sea Reef 7’s, the Great Fiji Butterfly Fish Count and the Great Fiji Shark Count.

These last two initiatives encouraged resorts, tourists and marine enthusiasts to help count Fiji’s sharks by recording sightings on sea trips. They helped raise awareness of Fiji’s diverse marine environment and to strengthen Fiji’s reputation for sustainability among tourists.

Our support for Earth Hour’s “I Will If You Will” campaign in 2012, financially and through media support, was extremely successful. The campaign’s ambassador, His Excellency, The President of Fiji, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau played a pivotal role by challenging corporate bodies, NGO’s and ministries to initiate viable eco-action.
